Pepper Brooks series tropes:

• Literature! Pepper is an English major and each of the mysteries has a literary theme to it!
• Dog! Hamburger, Pepper’s Boston terrier is actually based on my friend’s actual dog (she’s sadly not with us anymore, but she was the greatest girl). The story about how she was named Hamburger is real too!
• Romance! Of all my series, I’d say Pepper’s contains some of the most romantic elements. They’re still sweet and clean, don’t worry!

Pine Crest was loosely based on Ellensburg, WA. It’s the home of Central Washington University, my alma mater!
