Hi lovely readers,
As you might be able to tell from the title of this post, this is an update about my Pepper Brooks series. And, as you can also tell from the title, it’s not the news many of you were hoping for. At this point, I’m thinking I’ll have to push the release of Literally Finished to 2022.
With the Delta variant growing in strength, I’m worried that this fall will not be a good time to travel, especially not to a different country. Part of me wishes we had gone in the early summer when things were looking up, but my husband couldn’t get away from work at that point of the year. So here we are. Bleh. Which is why I feel like I picked literally the worst time to set a book in London.
We were originally supposed to go to London for my research in May of 2020, and we all know how 2020 went. Lol. Then things started to look up and we thought fall of 2021 would work. And it still might if things take a turn for the better. We’re watching and hopeful. But I just want to prepare everyone for the possibility that I might have to postpone, again. Living with an autoimmune disease means I need to be more cautious than the average person with my health, so even though I’m fully vaccinated, I still feel wary about traveling.
Anyway, there’s the bad news out of the way. Apologies. I’m so eager to finish this series, but I also want to finish it right and do it justice. I hope you don’t mind waiting a little longer.
Contrary to the sad title, I do have some good news as well! Other than Pepper’s series being on hold, I have releases coming up in both my Pebble Cove and Stoneybrook series. NOT BY OOLONG SHOT is out in a week and A GRILLED SUSPECT will be coming out at the end of October.
Other fantastic news is that I’m officially a full-time writer now! Yay! I started writing during my student teaching. At first it started as a hobby. I wrote at night and on weekends, stealing moments whenever I could between teaching and grading papers. That went on for about ten years. Three years ago, I went half-time at work so I could devote more time and energy to my writing. And this year I’m finally at a place where I can focus solely on writing! It feels like the greatest gift in the world and I have my lovely readers to thank for this amazing opportunity (and my husband who is putting me on his health insurance, lol).
This means I have more time to write and release! After A GRILLED SUSPECT releases, I’m going to focus on my new series. You guys, I’m soooo excited to tell you more about it. I think you’re going to LOVE the concept and the covers as much as I do (and I’m borderline obsessed with them). Stay tuned for more news about the secret series! I’ll be dropping hints and cover reveals toward the end of the year and should have the first three books in your hands at the start of 2022.
Again, thank you for your loyalty, your kind words, and most importantly for supporting my dream. I’m so lucky to have such amazing readers. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Love, Eryn
